Brigadoon was designed by L. Francis Herreshoff & launched as JOANNE in 1924. Owned by Terry Klaus since 1977, BRIGADOON was once owned by actor Sterling Hayden who brought her to California from her native Maine. I became involved with her in 2024, first re-serving the lower ends of the shrouds & adjusting the heights of the deadeyes, then later stripping & serving the rest of the shrouds & replacing the lanyards. I made & installed ratlins, replaced deteriorated stays, cleaned, overhauled & leathered the gaff saddles, fabricated new Lignum Vitae deadeyes that had split over the years, made new fitted mast wedges & boots, & assisted with pulling the masts for repair.
