The Nonsuch is a replica of small 1650 square-rigged ketch that sailed from England to Hudson’s Bay, Canada & returned with a cargo of furs thus beginning the Hudson’s Bay Company. This replica was built in 1970 by the same yard that built GOLDEN HINDE. The replica ship sailed on both east & west coasts of Canada before being trucked to the middle of the country, in Winnipeg where a museum was built around it. I was part of a team doing a condition assessment survey in 2010 & I recommended replacement of some of the sea worn hemp running rigging. I over saw the rig replacement in 2018.
