WATER WITCH was an 1851 built Civil War side wheel schooner that served under both the Union & Confederate flags before she was burned & sunk in Ossabaw Sound, Georgia. In 2009, the National Civil War Naval Museum in Columbus, Georgia built a full scale reproduction of her on land. I partnered with Pete Marshall to rig the replica. I designed the rig plan based on historic photos & the modern model in the museum collection. I sourced & ordered blocks & line- which we then spliced, served & seized & then installed on the replica. The project culminated in a grand opening with a complete civil war camp, during which Pete & I fired a Brooke rifled naval cannon!
